Cleaning a deck without a pressure washer?

Cleaning a deck without a pressure washer?
I have a small rooftop “deck” in Manhattan that is in serious need of cleaning. Being on the roof, though, I have no way of getting a hose up there, and if I tried, I’d probably be evicted. Are there any alternatives to spraying the deck with a pressure washer after using the deck cleaner? All of them seem very adamant about the “rinse with pressure washer” part. The deck is a 7′ x 7′ platform composed of 2 x 4′s and rises about 7″ off the ground.

  1. You could use buckets of water and a brush. Or, seriously, try to time the wash just before a rain. I have done this with cars and driveways. Its the perfect season for it. Use environmentally safe products though.
    Good luck.

  2. In a word “ELBOW-GREASE”

OK maybe that is two words. The only other way that will help to get it clean is to use a stiff bristled brush and scrub it.

You can do it either on your hands and knees or get the type of brush you can screw a pole handle into. I prefer the pole handle because you can “lean” on the pole and get a more aggressive “brushing” action.

I have used bleach solution on decks that have a green slime on them (this is a mold/mildew build up). It kills the mildew and can discolor the wood a bit (turn it black where the mildew was).

  3. I am interested in learning and doing this myself since I can’t afford to hire a contractor. I have my own power washer too luckily! The deck is about 4 years old and has been treated with clear coat water proofing 3 years ago. Now, it looks very dingy and is in need of some maintenance and preventive care. I would like to stain it, but not sure if I want to get into a color that needs to be followed up on. I don’t mind the natural grayish, but I definately want to treat it appropriately so that it lasts!
Should I powerwash, if so, what techniques should I use?
What products should I use to clean it with a power washer and/or without?
What should do and when, for maintenance?

  5. We pressure washed the entire porch last weekend to remove mildew from the white painted surface of the posts and railings and also to clean the sealed surface of the cedar porch floor.

During the pressure washing process, we removed a couple areas of the white paint and even a couple areas of wood. Before moisture gets into the wood, I’d like to repair the areas where we weren’t so gentle with the pressure washer, repaint the posts and railings and seal the cedar floor of the porch. All of this, hopefully, without having to sand everything.

Should I use a wood putty or caulking to patch the holes on the railings? Product recommendations??

Should I use a specific kind of paint to make sure it adheres to the already painted surface as well as the repaired areas?

Easy product to use for sealing the cedar??

Best sequence of activities….patch, paint railings, seal floor?

I’m going for best quality… meaning…. I don’t want to do this every year.

    Thanks.

  8. I am asking for tips and hints as how to clean my deck and patio furniture cushions. My name is Sam and my grandfather is coming down to visit tomorrow night from Ohio. My mother is on a cleaning spree and due to an accident I am unable to lift, push, or pull anything over 5 lb. with my right arm. I can do light work but I can only work until my arm starts to hurt. I am trying to stay out of the way and since everyone is busy cleaning the inside I want to clean the deck. We painted (not my idea) the porch last year chocolate brown regular house paint (also not my idea.) The biggest problem is that I live in Arizona, and AZ is mainly dirt and dust. The next problem is that our house consist of 8 people and 3 dogs, thusly the porch gets alot of dirt from our shoe and paw prints. One that my other grandpa that lives with me used to smoke but quit but there are remnents of ashes which really CLING to the paint.
Now AZ dirt and dust is not like regular dirt and dust. Our’s is a light brown and very, very fine. This causes the d&d to really stick and get into places that are hard to get to. I have tried to hose the proch down but it is to no avail. Everything sticks. Does anyone know how to clean the deck without messing up the paint and wood?

Next there is the problem of the patio furniture cushions. Cleaning them is probably the easy part but I need them to dry fast as well. They are covered in d&d and they smell like cigarettes and dogs. Does anyone know how to clean wash them and then have them dry fast? They are synthetic material but really asorb water. And I do not have a pressure washer but I can get a steam cleaner.

    Thanks to everyone who replies!

  10. I bought pressure washer fluid that indicates it gets diluted 1:20. My pressure washer has a tube that sucks up the fluid and then, of course, the water hose connects to the machine as well. Do I dilute it 1:20 into a bucket and then stick the tube in? (Then the water hose is diluting it further…?) Or do I just stick the tube into the detergent bottle fullstrength?

  14. Briggs and Straton – fairly heavy duty gas powered pressure washer. I haven’t run it for a couple of years. Put gas in, finally got it started and engine sounds fine, but every time I press the trigger I can hear the engine power getting less and less. If I stop spraying the engine recovers, but if I keep the trigger pulled for 2-3 seconds the engine dies. ?

  15. I have decided I would like electric to keep it low maintainence. My husband borrowed a friends pressure washer & ended up tearing up our lawn swing cushions. I just want to make sure that doesn’t happen again. I just want to do basic cleaning a couple times a year on the house siding, driveway, cleaning the fence, cleaning the finished deck & maybe occasionally cleaning the car without damaging anything. What should I get? Accessories & cleaners needed? Please be specific.

  17. I am interested in purchasing a pressure washer that is durable, reliable, and can clean wood surfaces without damaging them. Gas or electric which would be able to perform the job with minimal effort

    Thanks.

  47. Hi i am looking at buying a pressure washer to clean my deck and to clean my house i found a 2600psi for $299 and a 3000psi for $399 both have a Honda motor. I was planing on using it to clean a couple other houses and decks is it better to get the bigger one or should i stick with the 2600psi?

I have them all over our building and many of the nests are unreachable with spray cans. Id like to use my 2700 psi pressure washer to knock down the nests but want to add something to kill the bees as well.

    Any ideas?

  103. I am vaguely certain how to do this–I have a 1650 PSI pressure washer. I want to convert it into a jetter to clean out sludgey small drains. Thanks for reading.
It is an electric pressure washer.

    Thanks.

  106. I don’t want to spend a lot of money, but I want something that holds up well, and does a great job cleaning. What have you found that works well, without breaking my wallet?

  111. Also, I have a few other questions that I would like answered too :) Thanks for all your help.

    1. How do temperatures in Celsius and Kelvin differ in their relationship with pressure?

    2. How do you write an equation to express the relationship between pressure and temperature (K). Use symbols P, T, and c.

    3. What should happen to the pressure of gas if Kelvin is doubled?

    4. What shoul be the pressure at “absolute zero”

  150. Hello,
We recently purchased our home and are about to move in. One of our main concerns in our gray and shabby fence. How do we clean and seal it?

Can we rent a pressure washer from home depot or something? or should we let a professional do the job? Also how much would it cost?

    Thanks!

The deck is a 7′ x 7′ platform composed of 2 x 4′s and rises about 7″ off the ground.

  185. the home i am renting needs a good cleaning! so i was thinking of doing that this weekend. not sure if i should go to Lowe’s or home depot….. thanks for your input!
oh yeah how did it work did you just hook it up to a hose? i have well water does that matter?

  186. I don’t have a pressure washer sprayer – that’s why I’m wondering if I can bypass this step. I can rent one/buy one if need be, but want to do it with the least amount of steps possible.

  188. I want to get a pressure washer to use in cleaning the front porch, driveway, and siding of my home, but my house has low water pressure. Would a pressure washer still work in this situation? I guess I don’t know how a pressure washer works – I assume it’s hooked up to a hose on the house??? Thanks.

  191. I have heard many different methods from buying super chemicals to using oxygen bleach. what is a good way to clean cedar decks without hurting them. I have everything that you could find at a home improvement store such as Menards or Home Depot or WalMart as a resource. thanks

    Thanks.

  193. I have space under a pecan tree that is muddy because grass won’t grow there.

I am totally ignorant regarding landscaping and am researching my choices.

Which is easier? more cost effective (cheaper)? better in general?

    Building a patio made of
    1) decking materials
    or
    2) stone pavers

I would be doing the work myself (with the help of friends) and I live in Atlanta.

  195. I weigh 190 pounds and am 5ft 5in. I’m 13 years old. I eat 1200 per day and do chores like washing dishes and vacuuming. If you could give me some tips on losing weight that would be helpful! :D

  197. I don’t want to spend a lot of money, but I want something that holds up well, and does a great job cleaning. What have you found that works well, without breaking my wallet?

  200. I’ve volunteered to pressure wash a friend’s deck that is approximately 20′ L X 8′ W. I want to complete the job in one day since the house is 100 miles from my home and I’m only going to stay over one night. I know that pressure washers are rated by the number of PSI (pounds per square inch). Can anyone tell me how many PSI I should get in a rental? Is my hope to finish the job in one day realistic? The deck boards are pretty dirty due to lots of trees all around. Any other advice would be welcome.

  201. My husband was given a DeWalt Pressure washer, and the last time the guy used it, he decreased the PSI for a smaller job. I have been on the DeWalt website and I found nothing.

  202. How do I Descale a MiTM 2003 steam pressure washer I have 2 of these steam pressure washers , both well used and the local MiTM Dealer does not do the descaling . 203. An outdoor deck measuring 7’ X 28’ made of pressure-treated
wooddoesn’t get much wear, but is exposed to much sun and
rain. The deckwas painted professionally less than two years
ago with an oil-based primer followed by a water-based paint,
but the paint and primer are peeling off in many places leaving bare wood. What do I do now to get a deck the same color as the house, without having to repaint every two years?
It has been suggested that I use opaque stain instead of paint.
Will this solve the problem? If so, how do I remove the old paint? Sanding? Power-washing? Scraping with a brush? Scraping with a metal scraper?

  204. Where can I find an online version of the manual for this pressure washer? I have checked on the Argos site.
My main problem is that even when everything is plugged in and turned on (water + electricity) no water comes out of the pressure nozzle. Can’t remember if you have to do something else in particular, and I can’t find the manual. Doh!

  205. Hi…I’m looking to purchase a pressure washer today for use around our home. We plan to refinish our deck and would like a pressure washer strong enough to take off the moss and algae from the wood and also get some of the slintery wood off. Other than that, we will be using it yearly to pressure wash our vinyl siding. What should I be looking for as far as psi and gpm?

  206. I just bought a home and the previous owners neglected the deck. It was gray and weathered so I pressure washed it, etc. So what should I apply to the deck now? I’m not a big fan of maintenance so preferably something that will last quite a while without breaking the bank. Thanks

  207. I need to buy a belt-drive pressure washer, around 3,500~4,000 psi. Home depot doesn’t have any kind of that machine. Ebay has some, buy I don’t want to do shipping and i’d like to buy them in person. Anyone knows if there is any local commercial equipment company selling that kind of pressure washer in New York or New Jersey?

  208. Craftsman 2550 psi pressure washer – 6.5 HP.
Nozzle is adjustable – High Pressure or Low Pressure plus
    Stream or Fan.

There are two coats of paint on the concrete.
Latex – Light Brown paint with Green (unknown paint type) underneath.

I have accidentally removed paint on otyher materials but never tried intentionally removing all paint from a concrete surface. Can I do this? Should I use some sort of solvent/cleaner in conjunction with the washer?

    Thanks!

  209. Just bought a Craftsman pressure washer. Gas powered. Briggs & Stratton engine. I believe it’s a 190cc. Using it on a huge fence and deck. Forecast is for rain for the next few days. Really want to get the job done. Rain doesn’t bother me, but is it bad for the motor?

  210. the walk-way is basically cement, like a side-walk. it’s kind of dirty, there’s green-moldy-ish dirt on it, so i was wondering if anybody had suggestions of how to clean it without hurting the grass next to it? (chemicals, dips, home-made solutions…any tips)
    thanks

  211. I have had a very bad experience recently. I have a lot of decking in my back garden, lots of it, it was a lovely maple colour. I asked an person to stain it for me and without realising he has stained it rich oak! It looks awful and so dark. I hate the colour, he has applied 2 layers, whats the best way to remove it, will I need to sand down the whole place again and re do. It has grooves in it and and a fence all which look digusting!

  212. I have a 1400 psi pressure washer that I want to shoot one of my friends as a form of revenge. I am wondering if this can cause any serious damage or hurt him. It volume is 1.8 gallons per minute. Thank you.

  213. Due to an old roomates German Shepard, and his propensity to scratch, urinate and deficate on my deck, I have to pressure wash it before resealing it, and I also need to pressure wash the patio beneath it. This gives me an excuse to buy a pressure washer. I know nothing about these things so… What is the best model under $300 that will take care of buisness?

  214. I need help finding out where the oil plug is located on a troy bilt pressure washer model number 020344 before I can change the oil. I would like to do this before I use it this summer.

We are wondering which is the best product for the money. We are looking at a middle of the line product as far as pricing goes. Which ones last the longest without fading? Has anyone put one in and whats you opinion? Any thoughts will be greatly appericiated!

  216. The non-covered wooden deck is 10-12 years old. Ive been here 7 years and haven’t done anything to it.

    Its starting to show.

Should I treat it, spray clean it and then treat it or don’t bother ?

I don’t own a spray cleaner but I have my eye on a cheaper electric one..1650 for $69.99 at Sam’s. I know they are cheap but that’s cheaper than renting a better one for a day. (And i don’t want to spend $250-350 for a nice gas one)

Plus, Sam’s has a no questions asked money back guarantee. Worse case is I take it back & get my money back. I did it with a recliner that gave out after 2 years. And took back a 3 year old desk lamp.

  217. I have a 60,000 litre pool in my backyard and we stopped swimming in it several years ago after a storm that failed my filter.

The pool has been left abandoned for several years now, and now we want to fix it back. We got a quote from the local pool shop to fix it but the service was beyond our budget, I was wondering if we could DIY fix the pool without the professionals. What equipments do I need or any special chemicals to remove the stains & algae all over the pool?

    Thanx!

  221. I have a Craftsman pressure washer. I found a gallon of ZEP brand multipurpose detergent at Home Depot relatively inexpensive. However, it mentions something about using it with machines that have a downstream chemical injector. Does anyone know what this is and if the Craftsman model has one?

  222. Pressure washer gone bad. Repair business stated this type of pump is not rebuildable. So I am looking for a new pressure washer but want to make sure the pump is serviceable.
    How do you tell?
    What do you look for?

  223. I am wondering what is a good sprayer for yard/garden insecticide and liquid fertilizer. I just finished pressure washing my deck and got to thinking it would be nice to have something like this — electric and powerful — for my yard, for my very tall fruit trees, 1-acre grass with ants, general fertilizing. I bet one could get that done in no time flat.

I have a Craftsman hand-pump which I was never, ever happy with from day one. I dread the thought of using it.

Anyone ever put anything like that in a pressure washer ?
On 2+ acres infested with ants, I think it’s time to spray. I’m sure the 3 neighbors would prefer to see the lush green lawn I used to have . . .

Trust me, they won’t/can’t sue and wouldn’t do that anyway, not like that here, thank goodness

  224. I have a Troy-Bilt pressure washer 1 year old. I can not get any pressure there was dirt in pump outlet pipe. I cleaned out the dirt but now it will not build up pressure. Motor runs fine and if you wait a minute it will build up some pressure by not pulling trigger but will quickly drop.

  225. I took apart my Karcher K2400HH pressure washer pump unit from the engine and now gear oil is all over on the ground. Any help would be appreciated.

  226. If anyone has experience fixing small engines please respond. My pressure washer will not start. I gave it a tune up 4 weeks ago and started no problem. Thanks!

  230. I’ve looked at a few websites and see that I can get gas powered washers for upwards of $400 and also get small electric ones for as low as $80. I understand that the big difference seems to be the pressure that each puts out (PSI) but that’s all I understand.

Can I get a compressor so I can say attach a paint sprayer, a tire inflator and then attach a head so I can pressure wash? Or do I have to get a compressor for paint and air and then a pressure washer as well? I’m mostly interested in the washing part but would be nice to have an all in one solution if that is even available?

Here is what I want to do…wash the cars, RV, kids bikes, driveway, vinyl siding on the house and basic yardwork type of chores.

Please help me figure out what to buy?

Does anyone know in what order these parts go?

  236. Briggs and Straton – fairly heavy duty gas powered pressure washer. I haven’t run it for a couple of years. 238. I would like to hear from anyone who has done it. If one loads a pressure washer gun-like handle with a steel ball projectile and connects it to a compressed air source and pulls the trigger to fire, will it cause a lot of damage? Could it be used as an airgun to destroy feathered critters ? Will the device allow enough volume of air to flow through it? How much air pressure would suffice?

  239. I’m going to pressure wash my house before painting it. Someone told me not to run bleach through my pressure washer. I’m thinking of using a deck sprayer to spray on the bleach/water mixture to clean the exterior of the house if it’s not a good idea to run the bleach through the pressure washer. What say you?

Lots of carbon in ports, in combustion chamber and on shaft of valves.
I was just wondering what I could use to clean off the carbon.

    Brake cleaner?
    Throttle Body cleaner?
    Carb cleaner?

Please advise of ones that are potentially harmful (would slowly break down internal parts, like seals or anything).

For cleaning the exhaust and intake manifold, would I use the same or just throttle body cleaner?

Like I said, I’ve downloaded a bunch of really cute ones… I’m just trying to find this particular one. I think the words are “Clean up time, clean up time, boys and girls its clean up time.” Anyone know if Jim Gill does have a clean up song? Cause that would rock.

  348. Hello,

I am looking into purchasing a pressure washer for various uses, they are pretty affordable from what I can tell, however for a few applications I need a level of pressure around 1200, no higher. If I use any higher there may be damage done by the water. Is it possible a pressure wand can have an adjustable max pressure? Or perhaps just being careful enough to keep the nozzle far away enough?

Many pressure washers seem to be in the 1500-2000 PSI range.

    Thank you.

  349. I’m looking for a pressure washer that I can use for cement driveways, decks, etc. I also am looking to get a flat surface cleaner. Thanks,

  355. We have a Karcher 2400psi, (5HP Honda engine) pressure washer. When we press the trigger it doesn’t always shoot full power…the engine tends to try to rev over and over somewhat like it’s idling. Sometimes it will shoot full pressure as soon as the trigger is pressed, other times it can take between 10 seconds and 1 minute to get it going. Once it does shoot water out at full pressure thought the engine will rev up at a higher steady speed which seems normal.

We have had this issue since day 1 and it’s really starting to annoy us.
The pressure on the mains of our house is more than enough so we think it might be the valve on the trigger.

Any ideas on what’s happening here?
    Any suggestions on fixes?

  356. Im going to be repainting the exterior of my house soon and i need to get a pressure washer to clean and remove loose paint. I know i need to get a gas one because electric wont cut it. When you read further down the description/spec it says it has an “Operating Pressure of 65 BAR” Wheres all that pressure gone!? I assume the lower pressure is what you ACTUALLY get (which is crap for a power washer), so where does the 130 BAR figure come from? Heres a link to the item in question:: http://cpc.farnell.com/duratool/d00020/pressure-washer-130bar-1400w/dp/TL10021?Ntt=tl10021

I am not sure what the problem is, I have run on and I have the lever towards the rabbit, and it has a full tank of gas. Anyone know what could be causing the gun not to shoot the water out with as much pressure?

  361. Hello, I am in need of pressure washer and I have heard about Karcher pressure washer and Ar blue clean ar383. Which one is the best? Where can I get review site that explained the features of both Karcher pressure washer and Ar blue clean ar383 andthier specification?

  365. so i had my car waxed and polished ..the finish is great and all but where i live we get a fine thin layer of dust no matter where when or how.. my question is being that i have to wash my car often (like say 3-4 times a week) the only way that they wash a car here is using pressure washer and than drying it with a special towel…the Q : will all of this washing remove wax? my car looks shiny swirl-less and i dont want my car paint to look dull or somehow old. what should i do? reduce washing (which is very unlikely in my case) or wax more often??? thanks for reading all this.

  367. I am a screenprinter, and I bought a a pressure washer (1750 PSI Campbell Hausfeld) to clean my screens in the bathtub. However, there is no garden hose faucet in my 3rd floor rental apartment. Is it safe to hook up the washer to my residential supply, AKA my shower? I have an adapter that connects a garden hose to a shower fixture, but I’m not sure if this would mess up my water heater or what. I don’t need the water to be hot.
Hey, thanks for the answers so far! Ok, so I measured my GPM, which was 3 gallons/minute. I also noticed that there was some sputtering, i.e. very brief dips in flow rate, every couple seconds, but this was barely noticeable.

I tried connecting the electric power washer to the shower through a 15 ft. garden hose. Every time I pull the trigger the lights in my house dim significantly (Its a 1600 W machine), and a very powerful spray comes out, but in a big cloud instead of a fan or jet. The shape of the cloud is not dependent on how I adjust the nozzle.

After about 10 seconds of continuous spraying, the power washer really seemed to be struggling, and the RPMs on the motor started getting fearful, and so I shut the thing off quickly and hid – Help!

I don’t know if its a problem with the flow rate, or with the electricity in my house. I didn’t think this thing would be such a crazy beast to operate.
by the way, my shower puts out 3 GPM versus the power washer’s required 1.3 GPM.

  368. Has a 6.0 B&S engine. Crank up just fine. Normally water pours out from the underneath when the wand handle is not depressed. No water comes out underneath at all now. Also the engine seems to be running at a low rpm or just not a loud as it usually is. It does run smooth though. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
BTW the sticker on the side of the washer states that water coming from underneath is normal. Pressure relief I would imagine.

  370. These are the two that I’ve been looking at. They’re both the same price.
    http://www.homelite.com/catalog/pressure…
Has subaru engine 175cc, 2700PSI, 2.4GPM, Aluminum pump, OHC engine

    http://www.homelite.com/catalog/pressure…
Homelite Engine 2.5GPM, 212CC, Brass Pump , OHV engine, 3000PSI

I’ve never hear of a homelite engine. I am aware that brass head pumps are better than alumium but I am not sure what would be the better choice
the one with an aluminium pump and a well known relaible engine
or the one with a brass pump and an unknown engine
Also the 300 PSI difference doesnt really matter to me as anything over 2500PSI would be enough for me

  371. my husband is thinking to buy a pressure washer , main reason is to wash his car, but also to use it around the house, drive way etc…but we have no idea which one to buy, which PSI is strong enought to clean the car without damaging the car. He baby his car very much!
Does anyone know what is the PSI at the car wash?? is there any pressure washer that has adjustible pressure?
    Thank you!
does anyone know what is the PSI at the Coin car wash.

  372. I need to purchase a hot water pressure washer for commercial use.
I am looking at several options, but I am not sure what to look for: engine, brand, PSI, HP and etc..
I am looking at an interesting offer on ebay for a china made engine pressure washer for $2585 shipped. It looks nice, but I am not sure if that China engine will be reliable. On the other hand if I look for Honda engine HWPW I will probably have to sacrifice the 4500 PSI with less and will eventually pay more than $2600..
Here is the ebay deal: http://cgi.ebay.com/Powerland-4500-PSI-Gas-Power-Hot-Water-Pressure-Washer_W0QQitemZ290335600732QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item439959b05c&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
What do you guys think and suggest?

    Thanks,

    D.

  373. Looking to purchase a gas pressure washer. Don’t want to spend more than I have to. Traditional residential cleaning, siding kid toys, patio furniture, etc. I was looking at a 2600 but recently heard I need a 3000??? Any thoughts? Any specific models you like?? Thanks!!
it will be used frequently and those crummy 1500′s don’t do anything for siding. i know i need gas i’m just not sure if the 2600 is enough or if i should go for the 3000

  374. i am about to buy a water tank for my auto detailing business to use with my new pressure washer (2200psi, 2.2gpm). I am wondering what size water storage tank i will need. Should I get 60 gal tank, 100 gal tank?
planning to do mobile detailing, full lots of cars for a quick clean, ect. just looking for some advice

  375. My pressure washer works well untill I stop using it . It shuts it self down , sometimes it switches back on after 30 secs other times as long as 5 mins . Is there a thermal cut out I can disconnect as it doesn’t seem at all warm ??

  376. I was using my pressure washer and managed to get the hose against the engine for about two seconds and it blew a hole in the hose. This is the second time this has happened. I really hate to buy another hose if there is a way this one can be fixed.

Does anyone know a way to fix this without replacing the hose?

    Thanks,

  377. I run the water through the pressure washer.
I fire up the pressure washer.
I pull the trigger and the pressure washer dies.
I cannot pull the cord again until I release the water pressure in the pump, and no water flows through the hose after the engine dies.
I drained the fuel and restarted. I tried to pull the trigger and gave it a little bump–on and off. The motor stayed running, but the water quit flowing. Is there some sort of a valve in the pump that I need to do something to?

  378. Hey guys, I am in the market for a pressure washer and I have narrowed it down to two models. They are both 2700 psi for the same price, but one is craftsman and the other is troy bilt. Which one should i buy? Is one really better than the other? Reason? Advice? Thanks for your help.

  379. A pressure washer rated at 2.8 gallons/min and 3300 psi at the inlet of the nozzle. Assuming that 3300 psi is available at the inlet, what is the maximum velocity at the nozzle exit?

I know you have to use Bernoulli eqn, but I can’t seem to set this up…thanks
    its psig by the way

  380. am starting up a mobile pressure washer business and I need help finding a cheap pump to transfer water from my holding tank to a pressure washer. I know i need a “on demand” pump or one with a pressure switch, but i just dont know which one to use… also how could i hook it up to my portable generator. this is the generator i have http://www.lowes.com/pd_166734-24212-6110_0__?productId=3449766&Ntt=generac&pl=1&currentURL=%3FNtt%3Dgenerac&facetInfo=

i know you dont NEED a pump but my set up is not the best and does require one

  381. I bought this Task Force Pressure washer Model TF2000 about 3 years ago at Lowes. I tried taking it back to Lowes but they discontinued this product. The problem I am having is: the gun wand extension is split. So when I try to wash, a lot of water sprays all over the place.

I want to buy a new part but can’t locate it. I found on Amazon (i left the link below)
“Pressure washer 80005 Universal Pressure Washer Extension Lance with Fan Nozzle”

    http://www.amazon.com/Powerwasher-80005-Universal-Pressure-Extension/dp/B000EEQ9KW/ref=sr_1_13?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1338061743&sr=1-13

Will this work with my Task Force TF2000 Pressure Washer? A lot of the reviews say that it fits some, but not all.
    Any help?

    Thanks in advance.

  382. A popular brand of pressure washer claims to deliver 330 litres per hour of water at a pressure of 80 bar, drawing 1400 W of electrical power in the process. Pressure washers of this type consist of an electric motor that drives a small compressor to pressurize water fed into it through a garden hose.

Calculate the diameter of the output nozzle of the washer.

Thank you, I seem to get around 0.0009 mm… think i need help! Cheers, Bob.

  383. You are just supposed to be able to turn it by hand. It’s not a high powered pressure washer just one for around home. The motor runs fine, I can’t figure out how to change to the other nozzle — seems to be it’s frozen up. I can’t turn this one — I’m afraid to use any tools lest I break it.
