  1. i am not building a brick shed but i found your question interesting and this is what i came up with. whether this is helpful to you or not, i have no idea but it might help.

    good luck

  2. Sometimes they will accept just a sketch with some rough dimensions. They usually aren’t looking for a full set of architectural prints, especially for a small shed.

  3. The land is at the bottom of my large garden.
There is already a zinc shed there, but want to re-build it bigger/larger.

  4. Im thinking of building a small workshop from breezeblocks/bricks. It will basically be a posh shed. Will I need planning permission for this?

Also ive heard if the structure was previously made out of wood after 5 years it can be redone using bricks. Is this true? i.e. a wooden shed can be turned into a brick building after 5 years if noone has complained about it.

Any pointers on this would be great, thanks

  5. We currently have a lean-to shed on our property, I’m looking to use this as a home office, so want to make it less drafty etc, I was considering blocking up a wall which is currently made of wood, but i have a feeling that if i use block, i would need planing approval, is this right?

  6. SORRY if this is posted three times… I have been having internet problems, causing everything to be triplicated.

I want up to three 2-gang sockets in my shed, mainly to run a fountain pump, outdoor lights (few hours per day), plus occasional use of lawn mower, hedge trimmer, etc.
The shed is like a brick extension to the house, and it appears possible to run cables under the floorboards (house is elevated) out into the shed without them going outside (had been done previously, but stripped away).
Would I be able to have these sockets added by extending my downstairs ring circuit, using 2.5sqmm twin-core and earth cable? Would there be any problem (e.g. voltage drop) due to long length of wire between sockets – at most, the cluster of sockets would be 6-8 metres from the neighbouring sockets on the ring (back in the kitchen), and can this be got round? If this plan is not feasible, can you suggest a suitable alternative arrangement?

  7. I had to read “The Tower of Babel” in Genesis chapter 11 Verses 1-9
    and answer these questions:

What element in the story is etiological?
What element in the story is legendary?
What element in the story is probably historical?
What religious truth do you think the story is trying to express?

I understand that the story is explaining the origin of nations, their languages and Babylon, but I don’t know how to put that into each question.
Any other info or suggestions? Thanks.

  8. I have a pretty big yard in the suburbs and was looking for a storage building to put all my junk that clutters my house and my lawnmower and such. Maybe a building the size of a one car garage. Any ideas on where to get cheap ones? I’ve looked at home depot but they’re all sheds. I looked online but it’s all weird website companies that don’t tell you prices.

  9. I have just bought a 1kw generator for my outdoor equipment and i wanted to put in in a sound proof cupboard in my brick shed.

My plan is to put a 3×2 cupboard and use kingspan insulation to muffle the sound would this work

Link to insulation i am using

    http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=11417521&fh_view_size=12&fh_location=%2f%2fcatalog01%2fen_GB&fh_search=kingspan&fh_eds=%C3%9F&fh_refview=search&isSearch=true
I am building the 3×2 cupboard out of plywood with kingspan insulation on the walls inside the cupboard

    Will it muffle the sound

The shed has a sound proof door and i might make the whole shed sound proof with insulation

  10. Ok I am in the process of helping a friend make a exhaust for a generator. He is putting the generator in a old brick shed and needs to build a exhaust pipe that can connect onto the original pipe of the generator.

The exhaust pipe on the generator is 13mm and we need to connect it to a standard 15mm copper gas pipe as steel pipes are approx £15 per meter and we need 3M.And a copper 3M pipe is £13 so that is why we have gone for copper.

But anyway He wants to connect his generator to a standard 15mm copper pipe and he plans on using reducers and couplings connected together to do this, but we cant get hold of any 12mm connectors and 13mm are too big they just side off,We really would like to thread the 15mm pipe and somehow screw it onto the exhaust pipe that is already connected to the generator.Any Ideas

  11. Would I need to get planning permission to build a small brick shed about the size of a normal wooden one? I’d like it to be about 2.5 x 2 Meters. What are the limits on size? I’m in Scotland.
I fancy something more solid, so I can have more peace in there. Strangely the blocks I thought of would be cheaper than a ready made wooden shed.

A man needs a shed. (shame it would be in my mum’s garden)

  12. Is there any videos of how to properly insulate and plaster wall from a brick wall or can anybody explain?

I have an outside concrete shed and I need to finish the inside. All it has is the bricks. Do I put wood over the bricks and then insulation, or does the insulation go on the bricks? If anybody could give me some detailed explanation or a link to a full video of start (just brick wall) to finish completely, that would be great.

    Thanks.

  13. So I plan to use Haxorus as a physical sweeper and I want to know which pokemon work well with him, preferably non unova because I will trade from heart gold. Thanks.
