  1. I used a kit with dual layer polycarbonate but that’s for the snow here in Maryland. In the SJ valley you should be able to get by with much less. (I grew up near Fresno)

  2. If I were you I would check out your local craigslist ads for used greenhouses or greenhouse frames. There is a guy on ebay who sells a tool for bending 10′ chain link fence top rails into arches. Space these arches 4-6′ apart add a few connectors some poly and you are good to go. The nice thing with doing it this way is you can alway expand the greenhouse by adding a few more arches. You will soon find out no matter how big you make your greenhouse you will want it bigger.

  3. I want to build a tiny house, to save money, to reduce my expenditures, and to downsize. Honestly, if I won the *******, I would build a tiny house, or small house… 800 square feet max!
Anyway, building a home, smaller than 600 square feet, in my area would be illegal because it isn’t considered ‘safe’. However, to bypass that stupid law, could I build an attached greenhouse, thus making my home look bigger on paper? Actually the idea of having your living room in the middle of a tropical greenhouse is pretty cool, especially during those cold winter nights!
Anyway, would having an attached greenhouse qualify as an additional room, thus make it possible to build a tiny house? (the liveable area would be about 100-200 square feet)

  4. Which is worse for greenhouse emissions? Variables to consider are that I live in Australia (the powerstation from which I receive electricity was built a long time ago), and that I don’t let my fireplace smoulder (ie. I don’t let it produce a lot of smoke).
    Any replies would be great.

  5. I’m in 11th grade and I need some science project ideas. While I can choose anything that is related to science, I’m hoping to do something that benefits the environment. However, I’m not interested in doing research (for example, working with plants). I really want to build something like a solar panel or something similar. As a student, my budget is limited and I need something that is relatively cheap. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

  6. Question: How might I perpetuate my home-grown fruits & veggies?

Does it mean how might someone continue growing fruits and & veggies in their garden? And is the word “perpetuate” used in the right context? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

  7. I live in the north of england and i have a garden with lots of flowers. I have followed instructions to build a nest, so i have put it in a sunny flowery part of my garden, about 2ft of the ground.

Can anyone tell me why bumble bees aren’t nesting in it?
And how i can make them nest in it?

    Thanks
